Dr. G. Geoff Wang
Dr. Wang directs the Silviculture and Ecology Lab (SEL) at Clemson University. He has been either PI/ Project Leader or Co-PI for ~50 externally funded projects. Currently, Dr. Wang has eight ongoing research projects, including an active program of international research collaboration. He has published ~130 peer-reviewed journal articles and over ~70 non-refereed publications. He has also delivered ~250 conference presentations, including ~70 invited seminars. His research has made a great impact in the field as indicated by ~2700 citations, an h-index of 28, and an RG score of 38.
Dr. Wang has taught multiple undergraduate graduate courses and mentored 21 post-doctoral scientists, 14 doctoral students, 22 master students, and seven honors students. Students under his mentorship have won many prestigious scholarships and awards. Most Ph.D. students and post-docs trained in his lab currently hold tenure-track faculty positions or equivalent.
Dr. Wang currently serves as an editor for Forestry: An International Journal of Forestry Research; an Associates Editor for New Forests, Canadian Journal of Forest Research, and Journal of Forestry Research; as a member in the editorial board for Journal of Forest and Environment. Dr. Wang has been frequently consulted nationally and internationally by scientific journals, grant agencies, government agencies, professional forestry associations, and industries. Internally, he has also served and chaired committees at departmental, college and university levels.
